Lost in all this overzealous and off-base moralizing is the fact that freedom is a commodity and these jobs offer it in droves. You have a terrible employer but need some spare cash to get you through tough times while you look for better opportunities? Gig economy jobs like Uber and Lyft are waiting. Nobody, particularly not Dara Khosrowshahi, is saying that a better path forward can't be achieved. But to simply cast this as Uber/Lyft are evil and Unions/California DAs are pure and righteous is an antiquated worldview that these companies are right to call foul.
